Endoderm
The endoderm (from Greek to enteron "intestine", actually "the inside" and to derma "skin"), also endoderm , is the inner germ layer of the embryoblast . The endoderm is not to be confused with the endodermis of plants.
The epithelia of the following organs are formed from the endoderm :
- Digestive tract (except the oral cavity , foregut , rectum ) including its glands .
- liver
- pancreas
- Thyroid and parathyroid
- Thymus
- Respiratory tract
- urethra
- part of the epithelia of the genital tract
