Enzo Provenzale
Enzo Provenzale (actually Vincenzo Provenzale ; * 1920 in Messina , † 1990 in Rome ) was an Italian filmmaker and director.
Life
Immediately after the end of World War II, Provenzale began working as an assistant director for Pietro Germi , with whom he also wrote the screenplay for Lost Youth . Another intensive, interesting and long-term collaboration took place with Francesco Rosi , for whom he co-wrote important works (and was nominated twice for a silver ribbon ) and was involved in the implementation of the organization. From 1949 to 1974 Provenzale worked as a production manager on around twenty productions; including groundbreaking films by Federico Fellini (e.g. Satyricon ; he was friends and hostility with the director for many years) and Luchino Visconti ( The Leopard ). In 1959 he directed his only film, the Mafiadrama Vento del sud .
