The Epcor Tower is an office building in the center of Edmonton , Alberta , Canada . When it was completed in 2011, it was the tallest building in the city, replacing Manulife Place as the tallest building.
On December 7, 2007, the utility company EPCOR Utilities announced that it would be leasing most of the office space (around 24,600 m²) for 20 years in order to consolidate all of its employees, who are spread across the city, at one location.
Energy-saving materials were used in the construction of the building, which enabled the building to be certified according to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design standard. The Epcor Tower was the first larger office building in Edmonton in seventeen years. The building is nicknamed "Power Tower".
