Epimenides is an impact crater in the southwest of the lunar front , east of Hainzel crater , southwest of Lacus Timoris . The crater is moderately eroded and the crater rim is irregularly shaped.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Greek philosopher Epimenides .
