Epiphany Church (Hanover)
The Epiphany Church is an Evangelical Lutheran church in Hanover in the Sahlkamp district .
history
The church was dedicated on June 5, 1960, Pentecost Sunday. It was built according to the plans of the architects Peter Hübotter and Bert Ledeboer as an independent building complex based on the model of a medieval monastery.
In the parish worked until 1984, the Pastor Hans-Jürgen Meyer .
On June 3, 2011, a central memorial service took place here for three Bundeswehr soldiers who died on May 25 and 28 during the ISAF mission in Afghanistan.
Furnishing
The choir wall, a mosaic of glazed tiles and white plastered surfaces by Klaus Arnold , shows a large chalice from a distance and the three crosses on Golgotha up close .
