The epitaph of Wolf von Zillenhart in the Protestant parish church of St. Cyriakus in Dürnau , a community in the Baden-Württemberg district of Göppingen , is on the inside on the north side of the church.

Life

Wolf von Zillenhart is handed down in documents as Oberrat from Württemberg in 1563 and as Obervogt zu Blaubeuren from 1565 to 1576 . He was court judge from 1573/74 and from 1576 to 1579 as chamber master at the Stuttgart Rentkammer. From 1579 he lived in Dürnau. He was married to Susanna Freiin von Grafeneck.

epitaph

On the upright rectangular epitaph made of gray sandstone stands the figure of a knight in armor in front of a blind arch on a far protruding base . He stands on a lying lion and holds a mace in his right hand, an open visor helmet can be seen at his feet on the right. To the right and left of the knight, three coats of arms are attached one below the other. There is a grave inscription above the arch and in the arches. The upper part of the plate with the beginning of the inscription has been cut away, the head of the figure protrudes clearly beyond the cut edge.
