description

The 117 cm high and 98 cm wide epitaph for Reichmann Reichardt († May 16, 1607) and his wife Dorothea († December 3, 1607), b. Schragen is attached to the first wall pillar to the right of the south portal inside the church . A rectangular niche is framed by putti - hermen with skulls. Inside is a bas-relief with an urban landscape and a crucifixion scene . In the foreground is the kneeling family of the deceased in contemporary Spanish costume: on the left the husband with three sons, on the right his wife with two daughters. The seven-line Latin inscription of the donor is located in a scrollwork cartouche in the lower slope . There are still dowel holes in the entablature , presumably for the now missing coat of arms . The gable and the figure of Christ are also lost.
