Building description and history

The former Erbbrichtergut in Pressel, first mentioned in a document in 1434, can be found in the center of the village. There was a documentary mention of a feudal judge's estate for the first time in 1505. According to Schumann's Complete State, Post and Newspaper Lexicon of Saxony in 1821, it originally included four Hufen Land. The residential building is a two-story, plastered brick building on a brick base. Among other things, it is provided with a half-hip roof. The gables were probably built in half-timbered construction. The building is dated to around 1800.

A tower-like octagonal extension with narrow, slot-like windows and a profiled wooden eaves can be seen at the front. This extension dates from 1929. It is also a two-story brick building and has a gable roof. A sandstone plaque set in the corner shows initials and the year 1929 .

The side building, which dates from 1846 to 1855, is also two-story and plastered. It was provided with a half-hip roof and a beaver tail covering. The initials GG and the year 1930 can be seen on a sandstone plaque above the portal . The annex and side building are connected by a smaller single-storey building. Between the buildings there is a gate system with a beaver tail covering with a wide arch. The property's courtyard paving, made of small rubble stones, is considered to have been preserved in its original form.

Pressel Castle

The so-called Schloss Pressel is located a few hundred meters north of the Erbrichtgut in Falkenberger Straße . This is the manor on the estate, which was built in 1910 and 1911. The building, which was once built as a residence for the lawyer and later member of the Reichstag, Günther Gereke (1893–1970), is now also a listed building .
