Lanzhou Earthquake Museum
The Lanzhou Earthquake Museum ( Chinese 兰州 地震 博物馆 , Pinyin Lanzhou dizhen bowuguan ) was established in 1989. It is located in Shilitao十里 桃 乡 Township of Anning安宁 区Township of Lanzhou in Gansu Province, China , near Jiaotong University at the foot of the mountain. It has an exhibition area of 3500 square meters.
The Lanzhou area has been repeatedly hit by major earthquakes ; including the Haiyuan earthquake in 1920, it was one of the most severe in the world.
Seven exhibition halls are dedicated to various aspects of the earthquake disasters.
