Eren Güngör (born April 2, 1988 in Bergama , Turkey ) is a Turkish football player .

Career

society

Güngör started his career at Çamdibigüçu. In 2003 he moved to the youth team of Altay Izmir . He stayed there for three years and was then appointed to the first team. After his contract expired at the end of the 2007/08 season, Güngör signed a contract with the first division club Kayserispor .

Here he became a regular player in central defense straight away. He performed consistently here and played in the friendlies against Austria, Azerbaijan and France for the Turkish national team. He was injured during a preparatory game for his club Kayserispor and was out for more than a year.

Before the 2010/11 season, Eren Güngör began again with fitness and strength training under the new coach Schota Arweladse , but was still out for almost the entire season. Only in a single league encounter he came to a game. For the 2011/12 season he reported back and immediately won a regular place. He completed 31 of 34 league matches and was one of the players on his team who had the most appearances.

After mutual agreement with the club's management, he dissolved his contract in the summer of 2013 and left Kayserispor. A few days after his departure, his move to league competitor Kardemir Karabükspor was announced. Crucial for this change was the fact that Tolunay Kafkas , his coach from his time at Kayserispor, now coached Karabükspor. Without having completed an assignment for this club, he left it again in summer 2015.

National team

Güngör made his first game and goal for Turkey U21 on November 21, 2007 against Sweden . A year later, on November 19, 2008 against Austria , he made his debut for Turkey . Eren Güngör was appointed to the Turkish national team for the World Cup qualifier against Spain on March 28, 2009.

Due to consistently good performances for Kayserispor, he was nominated for the national team squad after a three-year absence for the World Cup 2014 qualifiers against the Dutch and Estonian national teams. He was nominated for a friendship meeting in 2012, but remained without commitment.
