Thomas Schädler (born October 24, 1967 in Rosenheim , Bavaria ) is a former German ice hockey player who played in the Bundesliga for SB Rosenheim and in the DEL for Schwenninger Wild Wings . After retiring as a player in 2004, Schädler embarked on a career as an ice hockey coach. He is currently the full-time national coach of the DEB U16 selection.

Player career

The 1.80 m tall center began its professional career in the 1986/87 season at SB Rosenheim , but then moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for SV Bayreuth . In 1992 , the left shooter returned to the Rosenheimers, who are now also second class. However, the striker made it back to the 1st Bundesliga in the same season with the traditional club. With the introduction of the new highest German professional game class DEL , Schädler switched to the Schwenninger Wild Wings , which he left after a year for Heilbronner EC . For the HEC he was on the ice for five seasons in the second division and developed into one of the leading players there. Even today, with 274 games, the Bavarian has completed the second-most appearances for Heilbronn in the club's history.

In 2000 Thomas Schädler signed a contract with the upper division EHC Bad Aibling . After two seasons he moved to the league competitor TuS Geretsried , which he in turn left after a year in the direction of his home club from Rosenheim, which had meanwhile been relegated to the fourth-class regional league and renamed "Starbulls". The attacker ended his career there after the 2003/04 season .
