Results of the local elections in Rheydt

The results of the local elections in Rheydt are listed in the following lists . The first part gives the results of the city council elections from 1946 to 1969. The second part contains the results of the district elections in the Mönchengladbach district of Rheydt. These elections have only existed since 1979.

Only those parties and groups of voters are listed that have received at least two percent of the valid votes in at least one election. If this limit is exceeded several times, further results are also listed. The field of the party that received the most votes or seats in the respective election is marked in color.

Historical information

With effect from January 1, 1975, the formerly independent city of Rheydt was incorporated into the independent city of Mönchengladbach.

The elections up to 1969 are the local elections in the formerly independent city of Rheydt, in the following elections up to 2004 the summarized results of the district elections in the city districts VI to IX of the city of Mönchengladbach (area of ​​the former city of Rheydt) are listed. Due to the district reform of 2009, the former urban area was divided into two districts. While the main part of the former city is in the southern district, Giesenkirchen has been reclassified to the eastern district. From 2009 this district can no longer be taken into account when determining the overall result for Rheydt.

Elections to the district councils VI to IX of the city of Mönchengladbach until 2004

The Roman numerals given here were no longer given in the 2004 election. A district reform was carried out with effect from October 21, 2009, in which at least two districts were merged to form a new district. The election results of the new district south, in which the main part of the former city of Rheydt is located, are behind the election results of the previously existing districts VI to IX.

District 3 - South

The new southern district was formed with effect from October 21, 2009 from the previous districts of Rheydt-Mitte, Rheydt-West and Odenkirchen. It does not cover the entire area of ​​the former city of Rheydt, as the previous city district (IX) Giesenkirchen was incorporated into the new city district East.
