The Ergo Arena (also Hala Gdańsk-Sopot ) is a multifunctional hall in the Polish cities of Gdansk and Sopot . It was built between 2007 and 2010 according to plans by the architects KIPP Projekt and opened on August 18, 2010. The hall has a capacity of 11,409 seats, which can be increased to 15,000 for concerts with standing room. The city boundary between Gdansk and Sopot runs through the hall.

Events

The first major event was a concert by the American pop singer Lady Gaga on November 26, 2010 . In 2013 the hall was the venue for the men's European volleyball championship . In 2014, the 15th World Indoor Athletics Championships were held there. In the same year it is also the venue for the men's volleyball world championship and in 2016 the 12th men's European handball championship .
