Erhan Tabakoğlu

Erhan Tabakoğlu (* 1967 in Tekirdag ) is a Turkish professor of medicine at the Trakya University in Edirne . On July 12, 2016, he was elected as the new rector of the university by a majority vote, and the election was confirmed at the end of July 2016. He prevailed against the incumbent Yener Yörük , who had also made the election. In 2020, Tabakoglu was confirmed as rector for a second term until 2024.

Live and act

Tabakoğlu was born in Tekirdag in 1967. He completed primary and secondary education in Alpullu with high school diploma in Edirne. He then studied at the University of Istanbul Medicine and completed his two-year military service in Adana .

In 1992, Tabakoğlu started his career at Trakya University Hospital for Lung Diseases . In 2005 he became an associate professor. Tabakoğlu has been Professor of Intensive Care Medicine at Trakya University since 2012.

The revitalization of the international relations of the Trakya University is important to him, especially the network of the Balkan universities is promoted by him in that his rectorate has taken over the general secretariat of the network. In both the Balkans and commitment in the relationship with the University Loerrach it is of Hilmi Ibar actively supported.

Tabakoğlu is married and has two children.
