Erhard van Straaten

Erhard van Straaten (born April 28, 1943 in Gießen ) is a German media manager.

Life

In 1970 he graduated from industrial engineering with a diploma.

In 1973 he joined Axel Springer Verlag . In 1982 he took over the chairmanship of the staff department. In 1985 he became a member of the Executive Board of Axel Springer Verlags AG , responsible for the staff department as well as domestic and international holdings. At the same time he was managing director of the Ullstein publishing house in Berlin . In 1990 he became a member of the board responsible for newspapers in Germany and abroad.

In 1992 van Straaten moved to the Hamburg Society for Media Consulting and Development (GME) as managing director and board member . In 1996 he became general representative of the Munich-based Ferenczy Media Group . In 2002 he became a board member of the Ludwigsburg film management holding CoproMedia AG , where he is responsible for communication, strategy and organization.

From 1987 to 1989 he was a deputy member of the postal administration board of Deutsche Bundespost , from 1989 to 1994 a member of the supervisory board of Deutsche Telekom AG and from 1993 to 1996 a member of the supervisory board of DeTeMobil . Since 1996 he has been a member of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce; in 2000 he advised ARBOmedia.net AG .
