The original Salem rest home is located in the Niederlößnitz district of the Saxon city of Radebeul , at Winzerstraße 35.

The two-storey building in the late classicism style , which is now a listed building, is a simple plastered building from around 1850.

The long side of four window axes faces the street, the transverse side is two window axes wide. The country house has a flat hipped roof with a gable dormer on the long side. The windows are framed by folding shutters.

The outdoor area of ​​the property is considered a work of landscaping and gardening .

In 1915 the country house was still being used as a “Salem” rest home for deaconesses, while a generous successor building was already being built on the opposite side of the street at number 34 . In 1920 the country house was sold to private customers, but still bore the house name Salem , which only later passed on to the successor estate of the deaconesses opposite.
