Eric Mayer

Eric Mayer (born August 22, 1980 in Rodgau - Jügesheim ) is a German television journalist , presenter and author .

Life

Mayer completed his studies in theater, film and media studies as well as American studies (Magister Artium) at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. He gained his first experience of moderation from 2002 onwards at the radio station Radio Fortuna . From 2004 to 2008 Mayer worked as a presenter and editor at the music broadcaster Planet Radio . This was followed by a first television engagement as a reporter for the news program logo , which is broadcast on ZDFtivi and KiKA .

Eric Mayer has been the presenter of the discovery magazine pur + since September 6, 2008 . He is also a reporter for the international journal and the spring and autumn shows of ZDF . All in all, he has been in front of the camera on ZDF for 260 worldwide reporter assignments and 200 pure + studio broadcasts.

Since May 2014 he has been conveying knowledge about the universe in the stage show Schlau hoch 2 - Vince and Eric travel to the stars together with the cabaret artist Vince Ebert. The knowledge show for families is to address other areas of knowledge in the future. In December 2014 he published the book TV-Wissenschaftmagazine auf Heldenreise , in which he examines and shows dramaturgical patterns of this television genre.

Awards

For his journalistic activities, he was awarded the Mi TV Award in Argentina in 2010 and the Golden Sparrow in 2011 .

On June 11, 2014, Eric Mayer received the Urban Mining Award 2014 for journalism at the 5th Urban Mining Congress 2014.

On September 26, 2014, the pur + episode "Help, I'm a Prejudice" was awarded the Robert Geisendörfer Prize.
