Eric Saindon

Eric Saindon (born December 5, 1969 in Bangor , Maine ) is an American VFX supervisor who was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects in 2013 for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey .

Life

Saindon studied architecture at Washington State University . After graduating, he worked at Alias in Santa Barbara . In 1999 he moved to New Zealand , where he worked on the Lord of the Rings trilogy for Weta Digital in the following years .

From 2006 he worked as a VFX Supervisor on films such as X-Men: The Last Stand , Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and Avatar - Aufbruch nach Pandora . 2013 he was for The Hobbit - An Unexpected Journey for the Oscar in the category visual effects best nominated. He currently lives in Wellington , New Zealand.
