Erich Dahlgrün

Erich Dahlgrün (born November 24, 1895 in Salzwedel ; † September 26, 1978 ) was a German Protestant pastor .

Career

Dahlgrün was born in Altmark and grew up in Bremen from 1903. He studied Protestant theology in Kiel. From 1927 to 1939 he was pastor at the German Evangelical Lutheran Church in Paris. At first he felt fundamental sympathy for National Socialism , but he tried to keep politics out of community life; he rejected the current of German Christians . Then he was pastor of the German Protestant communities in Rome and Florence. In May 1946, at the parish conference in Cervia, he founded the brotherhood of evangelical pastors in Italy and, together with Leo Bruhns and Carlo Piola Caselli , prepared the establishment of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Italy , which was carried out at the synod in October 1949. Afterwards he was chairman of the consistory of the regional church.
