Erich Hering (painter)

Erich Hering (born July 5, 1923 in Reinhardtsdorf , † December 22, 1978 in Kleingießhübel ) was a German painter and graphic artist .

Erich Hering completed an apprenticeship as a decorative painter. From 1947 to 1952 he studied at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts . Lecturers included Raade, Dähn and Rudolf Bergander . In 1953 he began graduate research assistantship . He then taught at the HfbK himself for six years. From 1963 he was freelance. Study trips took him to Romania and Bulgaria. Works by him were u. a. Exhibited in the Berlin Academy of the Arts and in the Dresden City Museum.

In the last years of his life he was a lecturer at the Berlin Art Academy.

Works by him include Modern Composition (1962), Altstrehlen (1964, oil on canvas. 65 × 100 cm), Composition (1962), Calendar Sächsische Gebirgheimat (1965) and the natural stone mosaic wall in the school yard of the Planeta printing machine plant .
