Erich Hofherr

Erich Hofherr (* 1951 ; † July 17, 2007 ) was a German lawyer and judge at the Federal Administrative Court .

After completing his military service, Hofherr began studying law , which he successfully completed in 1976 with the first state examination in law. He then completed his legal clerkship until 1979 . In February 1979, at the Hofherr was Tübingen University with the investigation Government agencies as participants in the civil justice for Dr. iur. PhD.

In February 1980 he joined the judicial service of the state of Baden-Württemberg , where he was initially assigned to the Stuttgart Administrative Court as a probationary judge . In 1983 he was appointed judge there for life. During his service at the Stuttgart Administrative Court, Hofherr was seconded to the Ludwigsburg District Office for 12 months from the end of 1981 and from the beginning of 1985 for 2½ years as a research assistant to the Federal Administrative Court. At the beginning of 1989 Hofherr was seconded to the Ministry of Justice, Federal and European Affairs Baden-Württemberg for more than 4 years as a consultant for public law, European law and civil law . In November 1989 he was appointed judge at the Administrative Court in Mannheim, where in the 10th Senate he was responsible in particular for nuclear proceedings. In 2002 he was appointed presiding judge at the Administrative Court and returned to the Stuttgart Administrative Court. Here he was particularly responsible for building law. In March 2006 Hofherr was promoted to presiding judge at the Administrative Court in Mannheim.

In July 2006, Hofherr was finally appointed judge at the Federal Administrative Court. Here he was assigned to the 4th revision panel responsible for building and land law, nature conservation and landscape protection law, monument protection law, the right to create and operate airfields and other parts of specialist planning law.

Hofherr died on July 17, 2007 after a serious mental illness. Hofherr was married and had three children.
