Erich Janitzky (born July 21, 1900 in Berlin , † June 21, 1933 in Berlin-Köpenick ) was a German communist and murder victim of the Köpenick Blood Week.

Life

After attending elementary school, Janitzky completed an apprenticeship as a mechanical engineer . In 1917 he was drafted to take part in the First World War. After 1918 he earned his living again as a mechanical engineer. He also attended evening courses at a technical college.

From 1924 Janitzky worked for Siemens AG in Berlin-Siemensstadt as a locksmith . He was married to Hedwig Janitzky since 1927. From 1926 to 1931, Max Seidel was organizational manager in the Köpenick-Nord area of ​​the KPD. Political director was Erich Janitzky. In 1930 he was dismissed without notice because of his activity as KPD manager . He then sold magazines. In addition, he performed official duties for his party.

On June 21, 1933, at the beginning of the Köpenick Blood Week , Janitzky was abducted by the SA and found shot in the Alte Dahlwitzer Strasse near the house of the Schmaus family ( Johann Schmaus , Anton Schmaus ). "The arrested locksmith Janitzky, who was in the murder car, was also found dead a few hours later with a shot in the head and stomach."
