Erich K. Hess (* December 15, 1929 - † June 15, 2018 ) was a German architect who lived and worked in Heilbronn - at times in collaboration with the architect Studer and later with the architect Emil Hess .

Life

In 1976, Erich K. Hess was elected chairman of the Heilbronn Chamber Group of the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects from the 320 architects of the city and district of Heilbronn who were entitled to vote.

Buildings and designs

In 1958, the five-storey Gustav von Schmoller School in Heilbronn was completed according to Hess' plans, which is a striking example of the modern architecture of the 1950s in this city:

“The fact that school buildings in the second half of the 1950s were totally dedicated to modern architecture is also proven by [...] examples in Heilbronn: [...] the commercial vocational school and the commercial and business high school in Frankfurter Strasse 1957–1958 by the Architects Stuber and Hess from Heilbronn built. Particularly noteworthy are the auditorium on pillars and the advanced reinforced concrete skeleton construction. "

On December 9, 1973, the Evangelical-Methodist Pauluskirche in Heilbronn, Karlstrasse 33, was inaugurated. The architects Emil and Erich K. Hess were responsible for the design and construction management. This church was abandoned and sold by the parish in 2014.

“An architecturally unusual church built according to plans by Heilbronn architects Hess has been inaugurated by the Methodist Church in downtown Heilbronn. Their church, located between the Festhalle Harmonie and the shopping tower, will in future serve the Evangelical Alliance Conferences in particular, which in Heilbronn have their southern German focus.
