Erich Kessler (politician)

Erich Kessler (born April 21, 1955 in Villach ) is an Austrian ÖBB official and politician ( SPÖ ). Kessler was a member of the Carinthian state parliament from 2007 to 2009 and has been mayor of Arnoldstein since 2003 .

education and profession

After completing his school education, Kessler completed an apprenticeship as a forwarding agent at Treu, Intern from 1970 to 1973. Transport and forwarding in Arnoldstein and subsequently worked there as an employee. From July 1974 to February 1975, Kessler completed military service in the Lutschounig barracks in Villach and began working for the Austrian Federal Railways on November 1, 1975 .

politics

Kessler was elected to the Arnoldstein council in 1985 and was a member of the council from 1989. In 1997 he was elected second deputy mayor and on March 9, 2003 he was elected mayor. On July 17, 2008, Kessler replaced Peter Kaiser in the state parliament. Kessler is a member of the district executive committee of the SPÖ Villach Stadt und Land.

Private

Kessler is married and has two children.
