Erich Koschik
Erich Koschik (born January 3, 1913 , † July 21, 1985 ) was a German canoeist who won an Olympic bronze medal in 1936.
Koschik started for the police SV Hamburg . From 1934 to 1936 he won the German championship over 1000 meters in single canoe three times in a row . At the European Championships in Copenhagen in 1934, he won ahead of Josef Silný and Bohuslav Karlík from Czechoslovakia. At the Olympic premiere of canoeing in Berlin in 1936 , the Canadian Francis Amyot won the single-canoe , behind Bohuslav Karlík Koschik won the bronze medal.
After the Second World War, Erich Koschik started again at German championships. In 1947 he and Hans Wedemann won the two-man canoe title over 1000 meters, and in 1948 they were both successful over 10,000 meters.
