Erich Neumann (born January 11, 1924 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Neumann began his career at the Oka Meiderich club and later moved to SpVgg Meiderich 06 and TSV Detmold . With the Detmolders he rose in 1947 to the then second-class Landesliga Westfalen . In 1948 Neumann returned to Duisburg and joined Meidericher SV . The "Zebras" initially played in the Lower Rhine regional league and in 1949 were accepted into the newly created II. West Division . Two years later, the Meidericher rose to the first-class Oberliga West .

In 1955, the "Zebras" were relegated from the league and made direct resurgence. Neumann played for the Meidericher until 1957 and completed 97 league games without scoring and 57 second division games in which he scored 9 goals. In 1958 Neumann moved to SpVgg Hochheide , where he let his career as a player- coach end.
