Erich Riedeberger

Erich Riedeberger (born January 23, 1903 in Stötteritz ; † December 4, 1969 ) was a German gymnast and later a sports official.

Life

Riedeberger was Vice President of the German Gymnastics and Sports Association from 1957 until his death in 1969 and President of the German Gymnastics Association from 1958 to 1969 . He was also a functionary in the National Olympic Committee of the GDR for many years . On October 4, 1959 he was a member of the collective of the sports show for III. German gymnastics and sports festival, together with his wife Hilda Riedeberger and Alfred Dittrich, awarded the GDR national prize for “outstanding achievements in the fields of art and literature”. In 1963 he was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver and 1968 in gold.

As the organizer of the German Gymnastics & Sports Festival, he published several books about this event.
