Erich Schirhuber
Erich Schirhuber (born August 22, 1955 in Bad Vöslau ) is an Austrian author and librarian .
life and work
Erich Schirhuber studied German theater studies at the University of Vienna and received his doctorate in 1983 with a dissertation on Thomas Bernhard under Wendelin Schmidt-Dengler . From 1983 he worked at the Vienna Libraries , since 1999 as head of the editing department .
He has been married to Nadja Rösner-Krisch (owner of Edition Roesner ) since 2012 . He has lived in Krems an der Donau since 2015 . He works or worked as a journalist, editor and literary critic in various publishing houses and as a lecturer at colleges and universities. It can have publications in newspapers, magazines and anthologies in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and - in translation - in Italy and Hungary. Member of the Austrian PEN Club .
