Rudolf Kraus (writer)

Rudolf Kraus (born September 25, 1961 in Wiener Neustadt , Austria) is an Austrian writer , poet and librarian .

Life

Kraus grew up in Bad Fischau-Brunn ( Lower Austria ) and lives as a writer and librarian in Vienna . He writes poetry ("Sprachminiaturen", Haiku, Senryu), but also narrative and non-narrative prose , essays , literary criticism (reviews for "Book Show", among other things media) and specialist literature. Since 1983 he has published articles in magazines, newspapers, anthologies, radio and television.

Kraus is a member of the Podium literary group , the Graz Authors' Assembly (GAV), the Austrian Writers' Association , the Association of Austrian Dialect Authors and Archives (Ö.DA) and the European authors' association Die Kogge .

Awards

Recognition award at the Bern poetry award 2003 (Switzerland).

Kraus and Mehrzad Hamzelo received the 2011 translation award from the BMUKK for “Nine Gardens of Love”.

Working grant for literature 2013 (BMUKK) and 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 (BKA) .
