Erich Tschernitz

Erich Tschernitz (born June 9, 1933 in Gleink ; † December 31, 2015 in Rottenmann ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). Tschernitz was regional councilor in the Styrian regional government between 1988 and 1994 . Tschernitz is married.

After his mother died in his early childhood, Tschernitz worked as an agricultural assistant in Sankt Lorenzen at an early age . As a teenager, he moved to the Veitscher Magnesitwerke , where he became a works council. In the course of time Tschernitz also took over the function of the central works council chairman, became a local councilor as well as a member of the Styrian state parliament. Between October 18, 1988 and January 25, 1994 Tschernitz also acted as regional councilor in the Styrian regional government, where he took over the social department. During his term of office, among other things, the resolution of the Nursing Home Act and the preparation of the Nursing Allowance Act fell.

In addition to his political activities, Tschernitz was also involved as a board member in various associations such as the volunteer fire brigade , the ARBÖ and the Eisschützen. In addition, Tschernitz was active in the Pensioners 'Association of Austria , whereby Tschernitz had been elected Deputy Chairman of the Pensioners' Association of Styria in 1989. Tschernitz held this function for over 18 years, he was also a representative of the Pensioners 'Association on the federal executive board and was later active on the board of the Pensioners' Association. In addition, Tschernitz was an advisory board member of the regional health insurance fund and social security and worked as the district chairman in the Liezen district .
