Erich Tschimpke

Erich Tschimpke (born March 11, 1898 in Breslau ; † July 3, 1970 in Heppenheim ) was a German SS-Oberführer who, among other things, was a supply leader in the Reichsführer SS command staff , area commissioner in the Ukraine and inspector of the press and propaganda department of the Italian arms associations SS was.

Life

First World War, NSDAP and SS

The trained farmer was in the army from August 12, 1914 during the First World War . As a member of the 8th West Prussian Infantry Regiment No. 175 , he was awarded the Iron Cross 1st Class as a lieutenant . His service as a first lieutenant ended on April 9, 1920. After the war he switched from one job to another penniless. On May 1, 1932, he became a member of the NSDAP with membership number 1,191,365. Two months later, on July 30th, he joined the SS (SS No. 40 065). From April 1935 to early November 1936 he was the leader of the 9th SS Motor Standard. From November 1, 1936, he was an engine consultant on the staff of the SS Upper Section (SS-OA) Southeast. Since he showed skills in the field of organizational issues and troop supply, Theodor Eicke took him on January 30, 1938 as a supply leader to inspect the concentration camps , at the same time he was promoted to SS-Standartenführer . He held this position until October 1939, when he was employed as a supply leader in the newly established SS Totenkopf Division until January 1941. After that, on April 25, 1941, he was appointed replenishment leader in the Reichsführer SS command staff. In the same position he became quartermaster in the RFSS command staff from the beginning of January 1942.

Area Commissioner in Ukraine

In October 1942 a briefing took place in the main office of the Ordnungspolizei (HAOP). From October 16, 1942, he served in the police administration (PV) in Waldenburg to get to know the police force there.

At the beginning of March 1943 he then took over duties as regional governor in the district of Korosten , Reichskommissariat Ukraine . On August 18, 1943 he was appointed area commissioner in the Korosten district.

SS command in Italy

In April 1944 Tschimpke was appointed SS leader z. b. V. to the staff of the Supreme SS and Police Leader (HöSSPF) Italy. There he was employed as "Inspector of the Press and Propaganda Department" for the Italian arms associations of the SS (Legione SS Italiana). In this function he worked with the "Inspector of SS Volunteer Recruitment" in Italy, Major General of the Waffen SS and Brigadier General Pietro Mannelli .

On April 30, 1945, his military service ended with this mission.
