Erich Woermann

Erich Woermann (born May 3, 1904 in Hamburg ; † 20th or 21st century ) was a German - Namibian businessman . He comes from the Hamburg trading and shipping company family Woermann and is historically associated with the C. Woermann company and the Woermann line . His father was Eduard Woermann .

Woermann enjoyed his training in Germany. At the age of 19 he left Hamburg on the third Adolph Woermann for Lisbon .

In 1940 Woermann married Franziska Kleinherne. During the First World War he served in the German Air Force . In 1950 he emigrated to South West Africa , where he worked in a managerial position in the family-owned company Woermann & Brock .

The merchant ship Erich Woermann was named after him.
