Erich von der Bercken

Erich von der Bercken (born December 17, 1885 in Lennep ; † 1942 ) was a German art historian .

Life

Erich von der Bercken studied art history in Berlin , Munich and Freiburg and received his doctorate in 1912 under Wilhelm Vöge in Freiburg. In 1913 he became a research assistant at the Bavarian National Museum in Munich and in 1915 he moved to the Alte Pinakothek , where he became a curator in 1920 and chief curator in 1928.
