Erik "Abbi" Asmussen (born November 2, 1913 in Copenhagen ; † August 29, 1998 in Järna , Sweden ) was a Danish architect who had been working in Sweden since 1939 . He is considered to be the creator of a new variant of the Swedish timber construction tradition, which he created out of anthroposophical inspiration.

style

Erik Asmussen worked with the artist Arne Klingborg . Both were advocates of anthroposophical architecture and for Asmussen the inclusion of the landscape and the traditions of the place itself were always important. So he always worked with nature and expresses this in a quote: "The aim is ... to strive to create a stimulating environment by means of design and use of the language of forms, which thanks to its special atmosphere can serve exactly that To inspire activity for which the building is intended " .

For these principles he used the coloring, the material and the recurring characteristic round and prismatic form elements.
