Erik Bergström

Johan Erik Vitalis Eugén "Backen" Bergström (born January 6, 1886 in Gothenburg , Västra Götalands län ; † January 30, 1966 ibid) was a Swedish football player .

Bergström played for Örgryte IS . With the club, the defender was seven times Swedish champion. He also played for the Swedish national team . On July 12, 1908, he was part of the squad for the first international match in the association's history against Norway , which was won 11: 3. After he had already been part of the Swedish squad for the 1908 Olympic Games in London, but was not used there, he took part in the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm with the national selection four years later and was on the field in both of the Swedes' games . In total, he played seven times for the national team and scored six goals. In 1903 he was also the Swedish long jump champion .
