Erik Hornung (economist)

Erik Hornung (born May 5, 1982 in Bremen ) is a German economist .

Life

From 2002 to 2008 he studied economics and technology at the Universities of Stuttgart , Hohenheim and Ottawa . From 2008 to 2012 he was a doctoral candidate at the Graduate School for Economics at LMU Munich . From 2008 to 2012 he was a Junior Researcher at the Ifo Institute for Economic Research . From 2012 to 2013 he was an economist, Transfer Pricing, Deloitte & Touch GmbH. From 2013 to 2016 he was a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance . From 2015 to 2017 he was a full professor for economics at the University of Bayreuth . Since 2017 he has been teaching as a full professor for economic history at the University of Cologne .

His research interests are economic history, long-term economic growth and development, technological diffusion, and economics of education.
