Rolf Kailuweit

Rolf Kailuweit (born November 27, 1965 in Berlin ) is a German Romanist .

Life

From 1984 to 1991 he studied law , Romance languages ​​and philosophy at the Free University of Berlin and the University of Barcelona . From 1991 to 1993 he completed postgraduate studies and preparation for his dissertation at the Universitat de Barcelona. From 1993 to 1994 he was a research assistant (division: Jens Lüdtke ) at the Institute for Romance Philology at the Free University of Berlin. From 1994 to 2004 he was a research assistant, assistant and senior assistant (division of Prof. Jens Lüdtke) at the Romance Department at Heidelberg University . After completing his doctorate in 1996 at the Institute for Romance Philology at the FU Berlin with the work Vom EIGENEN SPRECHEN - a history of Spanish-Catalan diglossia (1759-1859) and the habilitation in 2003 at the Neuphilological Faculty in Heidelberg with the work Linking. On the relationship between the syntax and semantics of French and Italian emotional verbs, he was a C4 professor for Romance Linguistics at RWTH Aachen University from 2003 to 2004 . From 2004 to 2017 he taught as a C3 professor (since 2006 W3 professorship) for Romance language and media studies at the Romance Studies Department of the University of Freiburg im Breisgau . In February 2006, the C3 professorship for Romance Linguistics and Media Studies at the Romance Department of the University of Freiburg im Breisgau was converted into a W3 professorship after a call to the University of Rostock was rejected . From 2007 to 2008 he conducted research in Argentina , Chile , Uruguay and Brazil (research semester). In October 2009 he was appointed a corresponding member of the Academia Porteña del Lunfardo. Since October 2017 he has held the W3 professorship for Romance Linguistics (Spanish and French) at the University of Düsseldorf .
