Erik Schmitt

Erik Schmitt (* 1980 in Mainz ) is a German film director and screenwriter from Berlin .

Erik Schmitt grew up in Worms and studied communication science at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In 2002 he came to Berlin, where he worked for an advertising agency. In 2008 he accompanied Louis Palmer on his circumnavigation of the world by solar taxi from India and published a documentary about it in 2010. From this time on, Erik Schmitt became known for a number of imaginative short films, especially for his rhinoceros in a gallop he was awarded numerous international prizes. His feature film debut was released in 2019 with Cleo .
