Erik Troeger

Erik Tröger (born September 5, 1979 in Dohna ) is a German bobsleigh driver .

Erik Tröger starts for SC Oberbärenburg . He has been involved in bobsleigh since 2001. He started in the bobsleighs of Andreas Zschocke , Karl Angerer , Thomas Florschütz and Christoph Gaisreiter , since 2007 with Matthias Höpfner . In 2004 he won the silver medal with Angerer at the Junior World Championships in the four-man bobsleigh. In 2006 he won two races in the European Cup with Florschütz. After problems caused by Tröger at the start of the first four of the 2006/07 World Cup season , he had problems to return to the Angerers World Cup squad for the rest of the season. He has been part of the Höpfner bobsleigh team since the 2007 season.

Before his career in bobsleigh, Tröger was a sprinter in athletics. He was three times German university champion in 2000 over 100 m, 200 m and with the relay of the University of Leipzig . He still holds the state record in Saxony over 60 m in the male youth B with 6.97s. His personal best over 100 m is 10.51s, set up in Riesa on June 3, 2000.

At the end of the 2007/2008 season, he ended his active career as a competitive athlete and is now fully dedicated to his professional career.
