Giselher Suhr

Giselher Suhr (born August 14, 1945 in Tauberbischofsheim ; † August 22, 2018 ) was a German journalist .

Profession and career

Suhr completed a law and sociology degree and worked as a freelancer for NDR and the ZDF -Landesstudio Hamburg since 1968 . After a traineeship he was employed as an editor at ZDF and worked for a long time in the editorial department of Kennzeichen D , he also presented some programs as a presenter. Since October 1989 he has been a permanent ZDF correspondent in the GDR . From November 1990 to December 1996 he headed the newly founded ZDF regional studio in Brandenburg (until 1991: "Correspondent's Office"), from January 1997 to September 2009 he was head of the regional studio in Saxony-Anhalt and then worked for ZDF until his retirement in August 2010 -Landesstudio Berlin.

Suhr joined the SPD in 1965 , he was a supporter of Willy Brandt's Ostpolitik . He also supported Agenda 2010 , but after decades of membership the distance to the party grew. He became an AfD member and posted interviews with and appearances by AfD politicians on his YouTube channel.

Giselher Suhr was buried in the Riensberg cemetery in Bremen .
