Erika Fleuren

Erika Fleuren (born September 1, 1940 in Wuppertal ; † April 10, 2015 in Wiesbaden ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and from 1994 to 2003 a member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

Erika Fleuren, who was blind from birth, worked as a typist for the city of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs from 1958 to 1968 after attending the blind school in Neuwied and the German Blindenstudienanstalt in Marburg . She then completed the training for the civil service career of the higher service at the pension office of the city of Wiesbaden and passed the exam in 1971.

politics

Erika Fleuren was a city councilor in Wiesbaden from 1977 to 1994, most recently vice chairman of the party and parliamentary group. On January 26, 1994 she moved to the Hessian state parliament for Jochen Zwecker , who had been elected district administrator of the Vogelsberg district. In the following two state elections, she was re-elected to the state parliament via the state list and left the state parliament on April 4, 2003. In 1999 she was a member of the Federal Assembly . Erika Fleuren was a city councilor in Wiesbaden.

Honors

In 2003 she was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon.
