Erika Seda

Erika Seda (born April 26, 1923 in Vienna ; † April 7, 2020 there ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). She was from 1969 and 1971 member of the Federal Council and from 1971 to 1980 Member of the National Council .

Seda attended elementary school between 1929 and 1933 and then moved to a secondary school in 1933, where she graduated from high school in 1941. She was then employed in the Reich Labor Service and Military Aid Service from 1941 to 1942 and studied chemistry between 1942 and 1946 and law from 1946 to 1949, becoming a Dr. iur. PhD. Seda was professionally active as a housewife .

Between 1960 and 1963, Seda was involved in the political arena as a board member of the umbrella association of parents' associations in Austrian compulsory schools, was elected chairman of the SPÖ- Döbling's district women's committee in 1965 and was also a member of the SPÖ's federal women's committee from 1967. In 1970 she rose to the position of deputy chairwoman of the women's committee of the SPÖ Vienna, and in 1976 she became a member of the SPÖ state party executive in Vienna. She also represented the Vienna SPÖ from June 6, 1969 to October 21, 1971 in the Federal Council and was a member of the National Council between November 4, 1971 and October 20, 1980.
