Eriosyce curvispina is a species of plant in the genus Eriosyce from the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet curvispina means '(Latin curvispinus) with curved spines'.
description
Eriosyce curvispina usually grows individually with almost spherical to spherical, rarely elongated shoots and reaches a diameter of 8 to 20 centimeters. Your head is bald. The roots are usually fibrous, sometimes a short taproot is formed. There are 14 to 24 ribs that are deeply notched. The mostly upwardly curved, thin to thick and awlish thorns are horn-colored with a darker tip. They turn gray with age. The four to eight central spines are 2 to 3 centimeters long, the ten to 15 radial spines 1 to 3 centimeters long.
The broad, funnel-shaped flowers appear from young areoles and often form a circle around the apex. They are yellow or yellow with a red central stripe or reddish, 3 to 5.5 centimeters long and have the same diameter. The reddish, short oval to elongated fruits are fleshy. They are 1.1 centimeters long and open with a basal pore.
Distribution, systematics and endangerment
Eriosyce curvispina is widespread in the Chilean region of Atacama up to altitudes of about 2000 meters.
The first description as Cactus curvispinus by Luigi Colla was published in 1833. Fred Kattermann placed them in the genus Eriosyce in 1994 .
Echinocactus froehlichianus K.Schum is a synonym . (1903).

In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
