Eriosyce umadeave is a species of plant in the genus Eriosyce from the cactus family(Cactaceae).
description
Eriosyce umadeave grows with spherical to slightly elongated, dark green shoots and reaches heights of up to 40 centimeters with diameters of 10 to 20 centimeters. The parting is bare and the roots are fibrous. There are 18 to 21 (rarely more) ribs that are deeply notched. The areoles on it are elongated. The 20 to 25 (or more) white to purple thorns are curved upwards. It is difficult to divide them into central spines and radial spines.
The funnel-shaped, light yellow flowers appear from older areoles and have a diameter of 3 to 3.5 centimeters. Your pericarpel and the flower tube are covered with some wool and some bristles. The elongated, light brown fruits are 3 to 4 inches long.
Distribution, systematics and endangerment
Eriosyce umadeave is common in northwest Argentina on alluvial slopes at altitudes of 2500 to 3800 meters. The distribution area includes the province of Jujuy and the west of the province of Salta .
It was first described as Echinocactus umadeave in 1931 by Erich Werdermann . Fred Kattermann placed them in the genus Eriosyce in 1994 .
In the Red List of Threatened Species of IUCN is the species as " Endangered (EN) ," d. H. listed as endangered.
