Eristoff

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Eristoff is the name of a vodka brand owned by Bacardi Company Limited.

history

The drink was originally developed for the domestic market by the Georgian royal family Eristoff (ერისთავი) (more precisely by Nikolaj Alexandrovitch Eristoff) in 1806, and the product soon gained a great reputation. In 1920, after the Russian Revolution , Prince Nikolai Alexandrovich Eristoff was forced into exile in Europe. Vodka continued to be produced in Milan until exile was lifted in 1956. From 1960, the Italian manufacturer Martini & Rossi took over production on a large scale, and the product was also manufactured for export for the first time.
