Erke Noth

Erke Noth born Rieken (born July 26, 1939 in Jever ; † January 10, 2007 there ) was a politician in the FDP .

Life

Noth was born as the daughter of the veterinarian Dr. Fritz Rieken and his wife Anna were born and had a sister.

She graduated from the Mariengymnasium in Jever. She then studied from 1960 to 1965 in Göttingen and Frankfurt, which Erke Noth completed with a degree in economics. From 1965 to 1971 she was a research assistant at the Agrarian Social Society in Göttingen, during this time she dealt with spatial planning and regional development, transport planning, educational planning, village renewal and housing construction and was involved in the publication of several standard works.

In 1972 she returned to her hometown to teach at the vocational school I in Wilhelmshaven and at the BBS Jever. After her political career, she returned to school and taught at BBS Jever until she retired in 2002.

Political party

In 1972 Noth joined the FDP, became chairwoman of the FDP Jever and was elected to the state board of the FDP Lower Saxony in 1975. In 1979 she became chairwoman of the FDP district association Ems-Jade. She headed this association until 1984.

MPs

In 1976 Erke Noth became a member of the Jever City Council. In 1980 she wanted to run for the FDP in the constituency of Friesland-Wilhelmshaven, but did not receive the required number of votes when she was nominated. She ran for the constituency of Leer / Unterems and entered the 9th German Bundestag via the Lower Saxony state list. In 1983 she left the Bundestag. She gave up her mayor's office two years earlier.

In 2007 Erke Noth died after a long and serious illness.
