from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The declaration on the 40th anniversary of the Elysée Treaty is a declaration of intent that names various national goals. The basis for the expansion is the Élysée Treaty , which was concluded at the time .

Mainly the goals set out in section C. of the contract were specified again in the declaration and new goals were also named, e.g. B. enabling dual citizenship for those citizens who so wish, as well as harmonization in family and civil law .

consequences

The declaration of intent is now considered routine, it results in a recurring joint session of the two parliaments and closer coordination on European law issues. As a result of the international treaty on which it is based, various bilateral councils have meanwhile been set up to discuss specific issues together. The Franco-German Defense and Security Council and the Franco-German Finance and Economic Council should be mentioned here .
