From the time it was built until it was closed in 2008, the Evangelical Reformed parish of Osnabrück used the building under the name Erlöserkirche .

Evangelical Reformed
On December 19, 1964, Superintendent Hans-Gerhard Schmidt and Church President Wilhelm Buitkamp laid the foundation stone. The topping-out ceremony for the church was celebrated on June 18, 1965. The community celebrated the inauguration on March 27, 1966 in the presence of the guests of honor, State Superintendent Gerhard Nordholt , Superintendent Hans-Gerhard Schmidt and the architect Werner Neuland.
In 2007 the parish had to part with three of its five churches in the city due to financial constraints. In addition to the Erlöserkirche, the Gnadenkirche in Schinkel and the Atterkirche in Atter were closed. The mountain church and the peace church were preserved for the community . Parish pastor Günter Baum carried out the deedication and closure on January 27, 2008.
Rum Orthodox
Via the Working Group of Christian Churches Osnabrück (Ackos), the Roman Orthodox community established contacts with the Osnabrück Evangelical Reformed community in order to enable the building to be taken over. The church was consecrated on May 9, 2010 after the renovation by Metropolitan Youhanna Yazigi . The church received a second baptismal font because the baptismal font of the Evangelical Reformed congregation was not suitable for the baptismal rite of the Roman Orthodox Church.
