Erldunda is a typical roadhouse at the intersection of Stuart Highway and Lasseter Highway in the Northern Territory in Australia . The settlement is about 250 kilometers from Alice Springs . It is a stop for tourists en route to Uluṟu, 244 kilometers away, and Kata Tjuṯa, 298 kilometers away . Erldunda has a gas station, a restaurant, a motel and a caravan park. The roadhouse is used by tourists for shopping because the costs in Erldunda are cheap in relation to the costs on Uluṟu. There is also an enclosure for emus and a landing strip ( IATA airport code EDD) for airplanes.
