Ernö Olah

Ernö Olah (born June 11, 1948 in Budapest , Hungary ) is a Hungarian violinist .

Life

His father Laszló Olah was a violinist with the Hungarian State Orchestra. Ernő Olah began studying the classical violin at the age of fourteen at the Béla Bartók Conservatory in Budapest because of his talent. In 1962 his father became a member of the Residentie Orkest in The Hague . Ernő Olah broke off his studies to move to Holland with his family. In 1965 he continued his studies at the Conservatory in The Hague. During his student years he played in several orchestras.

In 1970 the classically cast Dutch radio dance orchestra Metropole Orkest appointed Ernö Olah as concertmaster. In 1972 he was also concertmaster of the Malando Tango Orkest. In 1977 he also founded his salon ensemble Trocadero, with which he mainly plays classical music. Ernö Olah toured Europe and Japan and was a guest at the North Sea Jazz Festival and the Holland Festival with the Metropole Orkest . He worked as a studio musician for the Beach Boys , Stéphane Grappelli , Julio Iglesias , Peter Maffay and Peter Peuker. In 2004, after 33 years, he said goodbye to the Metropolis Orkest. He is concertmaster of the Malando Tango Orkest and director of his salon ensemble Trocadero.
